Less people using Adelaide's public transport

Does anyone remember the trademark Adelaide metro used to use?? How did we afford this holiday? we caught the adelaide metro?? well where has that gone?? The fact is it is cheaper to drive? Public transport is robbery. The reason i dont catch public transport is it is $4.40 for my 15 minute trip to work and $4.40 for my 15 minute trip home from work, Thats $8.80 a day. Why is it that i have to pay full price for a 15 minute ride to work, and those who dont work get it for $2. if i drive to work i use $25 worth in petrol a week, If i catch the bus to work its over $35. What the hell is going on with the way this Transport department thinks??? how can they justify $4.40 for a ticket that only last 2 hours??? Maybe i should just quit work so i can get everything at a discount price?

The big problem is the ridiculous decision to scrap weekly tickets and go to a 10 trip system back in the 80s. It was a poor decision and has created a system where people only use it to and from work/school because that is all our ticketing system provides without buying further tickets.
Sydney and Melbourne both have weekly tickets and the government actually reintroduced weekly tickets people like myself would use it more often. If you are going to overcharge and only provide the ten trip ticket then you will only have people using it ten times a week.

I live 6.5 kms away from town, which is a 5 minute drive. If I was to catch the bus, it would take me 30 minutes and costs me $56 EACH WAY. Why on earth would I do that? It so much more convenient to drive, if I needed to go into the city. The trouble for me is that I don work in the city I work 17 kms to the north. But to get to work by bus I have to catch a bus into the city, then wait for a connection to travel to a northern interchange, where I have to wait for another connection before getting to work probably taking me at least 1.52 hours. And I have to pay an exorbitant amount for the privilege, plus be tied to times of buses, so that I wouldn have control over when I could leave work. Why would I do that when I can drive it in 25 minutes and have the convenience to leave whenever I want to??
