Hatching a new ad campaign
"Desperate Housewives" star Teri Hatcher, 42, will be modeling the label's trademark gowns, plus its more recent lines of denim, swimwear, sunglasses and, apparently, lingerie, the Associated Press reports.
She got the gig after running into designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka at the "American Idol" finale they did a stellar job dressing curvy winner Jordin Sparks and reminding them they were the first to design a gown for her when she starred in "Lois Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" in the 1990s.
Hatcher even arrived at the first photo shoot with the original, handpainted platinum silk velvet gown she wore to the 1995 Emmys, the AP reports. Badgley says he was drawn to Hatcher because she's both sophisticated and downtoearth plus she's the exact same size as the brand's fit model.
Other celebrity campaign stars this season include Sienna Miller for Tod's; Claudia Schiffer and Stephanie Seymour for Salvatore Ferragamo; and international hottie Mikhail Gorbachev for [url=http://www.xantrex.cc]Louis Vuitton[/url].
